As the Sun in Virgo slid into the the 8 degree mark, it met the Moon in Leo. This number eight is one of significance when it comes to the energies of this year and Leo specifically.

In the tarot, the number eight major arcana card is “Strength” - one of two cards of Leo. Astrologically, eight is connected with the zodiac sign of Scorpio. Whenever we are dealing with energies of eight, we are facing the obstacles within and without that we must push through to establish a new pattern or wave.

Eight is the number that on its side becomes the infinity loop, and a great example of how dual energies work and flow together to create balance, as well as the imbalances responsible for the creation of something entirely new.

In cell biology, the moment one cell divides to become two, you can also see this pattern. The cell will literally pull itself apart at both ends as it replicates it information. At its “breaking point,” it resembles an infinity loop, or number eight on its side. It then breaks into two separate entities, having replicated its information and self.

This infinity loop is also what crowns “The Magician,” and hovers over her/his head, in the major arcana card that represents Mercury and the two signs under its domain - Gemini and Virgo.

It is through the planet Mercury, and the zodiac signs it flows through, that we re-establish our true creator abilities, and the primordial stuff and ingredients we need to literally create new worlds and realities out of the void.

This is why right now the energies are stormy and chaotic. We are in a grand creation vortex, where we have the ability to direct the information Mercury is making possible for us to see and connect with. This creational energy causes disturbances in both the time space continuum, as well as in what holds all things together, and simultaneously separates and creates borders.
