I awoke this morning to hearing the washing machine in its final spin cycle in my dream time - certain that it was about to beep and go off to signal the end of its’s cycle in “real” time too.

It felt and sounded so real in that liminal space between sleep and wakefulness…that I got up and went straight into the kitchen to see if it was actually on. When I arose, I found the washer was off, and the clock flashing 06:25, showing that it was a lot earlier than it had felt in my dream.

In my half awake half asleep state, I had this fear of having woken up too late for something….that I had somehow missed my appointed time to rise or exit. The sound of the washer in progress, meant I also may have missed my chance to get up and get my own laundry out of the way before the arising of everyone else in the flat.

And the message coming in - loud and clear above the anxiety in the dream - was “you haven’t missed a thing. You are right where you need to be for the next steps of this new chapter to roll out with ease.”

And so I write and share these words of assurance with you too on this new day and new week: “You haven’t missed a thing. You are right where you need to be for the next steps of this new chapter to roll out with ease.”
